. insists Chief Jeremiah Agbamitotor-Sago remains the Unugbrogodo of Idjerhe Kingdom

Former President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Chief Agofere Amasoro, who was crowned king by some chiefs of the Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, has condemned the recent installation of one Chief Solomon Odemero-Agbagi as the new Unugbrogodo of Jesse Central Oguedion in Idjerhe Kingdom.

Speaking with newsmen in Jesse, Chief Amasoro, said that Chief Jeremiah Agbamitotor-Sago remains the Unugbrogodo of Jesse Central Oguedion.

Chief Amasoro, who urged members of the public to disregard the purported installation of Chief Odemero-Abagi as the kingdom’s new Unugbrogodo, said it is only the king that can install any Unugbrogodo in Idjerhe Kingdom stressing that such event can only happen when the Unugbrogodo dies.

The Ovie-elect of Idjerhe Kingdom described the action of Chief Iweta Enabru and some chiefs who carried out the legal installation as a sacrilege, forbidden and against the tradition and culture of Idjerhe Kingdom.

Chief Amasoro also cleared the air on the existence of the Ovie-in-Council for the kingdom saying the council for now ceases to exist until the new king reconstitutes the council after receiving staff of office from the state government.

Chief Amasoro disclosed that his group has done everything in accordance with laid down procedures to end the impasse in the kingdom but regretted that some persons who do not want peace in the kingdom have continued to take steps that are tantamount to the progress of the kingdom.

He said a meeting to resolve some of the teething issues yet is yet to hold but appealed to all to close ranks for the overall interested of Idjerhe Kingdom.

 Chief Amasoro called on the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other stakeholders to swiftly look into the issue for amicable resolution.

Chiefs present at the briefing include, Chief Jeremiah Agbamototor Sago, Chief Isaac Ejevavi, Chief Achoja Odowene, Chief Edojariagba and Chief William Ukumakpone.

Others are Chief Moses Akpasa, Chief William Ogbodu Etedaferua, Chief Gilbert Makaba and Chief Emmanuel Otugoma.
