Gunmen at about 1:35pm on Wednesday abducted four workers working for Setraco, a Construction firm in Torugbene in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The gunmen sporadically at the area before abducting the workers and left the scene in a speedboat in the riverine ommunity.
The Public Relations Officer of the company, Mr. Afuruku Robert confirmed the abduction of the workers in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent.
”This afternoon the hoodlums attacked the site in Torugbene community around 1:35pm in the day and four workers were were abducted at gun point after sporadic shooting into the air and drove away in speedboat to unknown destination”
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report in a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
DSP Onovwakpoyeya said, “Yes, it’s true.”
She said the police is making effort to rescue the abducted workers unhurt.
It would be recalled that the medical director of Torugbene General Hospital was abducted and released after undisclosed sum was paid ransom.
