Former Executive Director of Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Mr Samuel Adjogbe, an engineer on Saturday night escaped death, following an attack on his car by suspected assassins.
Adjogbe who confirmed the incident in a phone chat with RealTime24 said the attack took place around the Ughelli, Evwreni, Ogor boundary axis on the busy East/West Road of Delta State.
He said there was sporadic shooting at his Lexus 570 Jeep particularly the owner’s seat unknowingly to them that he was not in the car but, one of the occupants, Mr Samuel Adibor was hit by bullets on his head.
Adjogbe stated that Mr Samuel Adibor was already receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in Ughelli and the matter has been reported at the Ughelli ‘A’ Police Division.
He said, “they were attacked between Ughelli and Evwreni on their way from Ughelli at about 7:40 pm and my second driver, Mr Samuel Adibor was shot on his head.
“He is presently taking treatment in one of the hospitals in Ughelli. Thank God, no life was lost.”
As at the time of this report, an effort was still being made to reach the police authorities in the state for comment on the matter.
