Former Nigeria’s Federal Commissioner for Works, Major-General Orho Obada (Rtd), has passed on at the age of 81.
Major General Obada a native of Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was said to have died on Saturday night after a brief illness.
He was until his death the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the apex socio-cultural umbrella body of the Urhobo nation, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU).
Born April 4, 1939, the late Obada was Aide-de-Camp to late Dr, Nnamdi Azikiwe, 1964 – 66; Acting Chief of Air Staff, 1970 – 71; Commander, Training Command, Nigeria Air Force, Kaduna, 1971 – 75; General Officer Commanding, 82 Division, Enugu, then 4th Infantry Division; Nigerian Army Federal Commissioner for Works, 1976 and Commissioner representing Delta State in the Federal Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, 2006.
