The Nigerian House of Representatives has honoured Deputy Commissioner of Police-in-charge of Operations, Abba Kyari and his team for their outstanding patriotism and exemplary effort in tackling crime across the country.
The Police officer was in the Green Chamber on Thursday where his acts of bravery were chronicled and lawmakers took turns to laud his achievements.
The Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said he was particularly impressed with the Police Officer’s readiness to put his life on the line for Nigerians.
He stressed that the recognition being accorded DCP Kyari should not be taken lightly as the greatest honour given to any citizen is the recognition by a lawmaking body.
The Speaker urged the public to recognise that despite the negative perception of the Nigeria Police Force, there are still individuals whose performance are worthy of commendation.
Hon. Bello Kumo, who is the chairman of the House Committee on Police emphasized that Kyari’s achievements as a police officer cannot be denied or underplayed.
In his response DCP ABBA Kyari thanked the House for the kind gesture and promised to do more in the discharge of his duty.
