Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Nasarawa chapter, Bishop Joseph Masin, who was abducted by gunmen last Thursday at his residence in Lafia has been released.
The Nation reports that his son, Pastor Sam Joseph, confirmed his release on Sunday.
He said the cleric was reunited with the family around 1:48am at their Bukan Sidi residence in Lafia on Sunday and that he had been taken for medical examination in an undisclosed hospital.
The Nasarawa State Police Commissioner, Bola Longe, also confirmed the release of the cleric but denied that ransom was paid to secure the release of the chairman.
He explained that four suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident and would soon be charged to court once investigation was concluded.
The kidnappers had demanded for N20m ransom before they can release Masin.
