All is not well with the political family of the Deputy President of the Nigeria Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, following the death of one of his legislative aides, Mr Emmanuel Ayiweogenmine, on Friday.
Mr. Ayiweogenmine also known as ‘Big Fish’ passed on in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness.
His demise comes seven months after the death of ace broadcaster, Mr Mudiaga Asagba, who was one of the famous legislative aides to Omo-Agege.
In a statement on Friday, by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, Deputy President of the Nigeria Senate said “his death came as a rude shock not only to him but also to many other persons who have had cause to interact with him over the years.”
Senator Omo-Agege described, “Ayiweogenmine as a fiercely loyal and dedicated aide who would do everything within his legitimate power to protect the ideals and principles of political engagements that I stand for.
“He prayed that the Almighty God should grant his soul eternal rest.”
The deceased hailed from Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, was former staff of OPI Construction Company Limited, and also worked with the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) before going into politics.
Ayiweogenmine is survived by a wife and children.
