The newly acquired COVID-19 Mobile Testing laboratory by the Delta State government has been inaugurated.
The Mobile laboratory located at the premises of the Asaba Specialist Hospital was deployed to the state by the Irrua Specialist Hospital, Edo State in conjunction with Pandora Consortium.
Secretary to State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie who inaugurated the testing centre said the project came at the right time as it would enable suspected cases of COVID-19 to be tested and get the result on time.
Mr Ebie thanked Irrua Specialist Hospital and Pandora for deploying the laboratory to the state and called on others to partner government in the fight against the dreaded virus.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye said the laboratory was a dream come through as the centre can run many test as possible.
Dr. Ononye noted that the state Government was doing its best in the containment of the disease and advised anyone with symptoms of ailment to report to the appropriate medical facilities of Government for treatment.
The representative of the Irrua Specialist Hospital, Dr Reuben Eifediyi said the deployment was to enable suspected cases in the state have access to medical facilities for testing before treatment could commence.
