Former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Friday Osanebi has donated food items to traditional rulers in Ndokwa East Local Government Area as part of his palliatives to ameliorate the plight of the monarchs during the corona virus lockdown in Delta State.
The food items which include cows, bags of rice, cartons of Indomie Noddles and cash, were delivered to the palaces of the benefiting royal fathers, amid praises and encomiums over the benevolence of the Delta lawmaker.
Osanebi had in the last two weeks distributed food items worth over seventy million naira to his constituents across communities in Ndokwa East Council Area as well as protective materials against the corona virus pandemic in the entire Ndokwa nation.
The Lawmaker who represents Ndokwa East Constituency in the House said the donations to the traditional rulers were made in partnership with a friend and philanthropist, Chief Godspower Avuru, in response to his resolve to reach out to as many as possible at this time of the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Culture and Tourism, debunked insinuation that the monarchs were expected like every other person to be at the Primary Schools in their communities to partake in the sharing of food items he brought to the local government area for distribution among constituents.
He expressed optimism that the donated food items will help ameliorate the challenges of the times in their homes and urged them to sustain their steering roles in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic within and outside their kingdoms.
The Lawmaker also thanked Chief Godspower Avuvu for collaborating with him at ensuring that food were made available to the people.
The monarchs prayed God to continue to bless him and members of his family, describing his philanthropic drive as worthy of emulation.
