The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) headquarters in Abuja has been gutted by fire.
The Nation reports the fire started around 11am.
The inferno has gutted a substantial part of the building. Mostly affected is the Election and Party Monitoring Department (EPM), which was completely razed.
However, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Voters’ Education and Information, Festus Okoye, has claimed that no critical document was lost to the inferno.
