The Delta State Government has directed 17 persons who came in close contact with the index case of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19 to undergo self-isolation. The State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, made this known on Thursday, during a post EXCO briefing in Asaba.
According to the State Commissioner for Information, the State Government has traced 17 persons who came in contact with the index case and has asked them to self-isolate even as it continues to monitor them.
He added that the index case was favorably responding to treatment at the isolation center in Oghara. It would be recalled that the State Government on Wednesday revealed that the index case in Delta State as confirmed by NCDC, came from Canada to the State two months ago.
The Commissioner further disclosed that the State Government has commenced contact tracing for the index case, adding that there was no cause for alarm as the patient was already receiving best of treatment from the medical team.
