The alleged leaked manifesto of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, revealing his mission to implement hourly wages if elected, has been generating mixed reactions on the social media.
For some period of time, many Nigerians have been waiting to see the manifestos of Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who happens to be one of the leading presidntial candidates for the 2023 election. However, some hours ago, an alleged leaked long-awaited Labour Party manifesto stormed social media, and one of the contents, which indicated the party would introduce an hourly wage structure for Nigeria workers instead of the monthly payment structure that the country is currently practicing, elicited mixed reactions.
Some of those who had reacted to this proposed payment had praised such a move, while some others are of the view that such moves cannot be achieved in Nigeria because the president cannot enforce payment of minimum wages. Such a move would also require National Assembly legislation and the Trade Union Congress and Nigeria Labour Congress would not accept it.
