A coalition of Elders and party stakeholders, on Sunday, urged Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, former governors, Ibori James Ibori and Emmanuel Uduaghan to allow the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to be the sole candidate of both the PDP and the APC in 2023.

The elders and women groups, in a statement in Koko, headquarters of Warri North LGA, said the call followed the release by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta had no governorship candidate in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking o behalf of the group Pa.Christopher Ogumala revealed that Olorogun Ovie Omo-Agege is maternally from Warri North which naturally ought to connect soul tides between him, Ibori, and Uduaghan.

He maintained that the best thing to do is to allow their son from the opposition party to take the lead since they all belong to one political family before now.

According to them” Nigerian democracy has come of age where character should Trump over other parochial considerations as Senator Ovie Omo Agege offers a better alternative in the management and sustenance of democracy in the State.

Pa. Christopher who was passionate about his stands insists that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has carefully deployed and productively used his position as Deputy Senate President to develop the state irrespective of the Senatorial district.

According to him, sizeable numbers of communities that were in darkness have been been given electricity while others have benefited through various forms of development.

The group further called on all Deltans to vote for the candidacy of Agege as the best choice for the holistic development of the State.
