The national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has extended the tenure of the Comrade Michael lkeogwu led executive of NUJ Delta State Council till July 2, 2020.
A statement on Friday signed by the NUJ Assistant National Secretary, Gbemiga Bamidele, also cancelled the use of attendance register for the purpose of conducting election into the State Executive also scheduled for July 2, 2020
The national leadership of the union had to wade into the brewing crisis over issues surrounding preparations for the state election which was earlier scheduled for June 2, 2020.
An emergency State Congress which was called by the national leadership on Friday in Asaba, to resolve some of the contending issues was aborted due to disagreements among members of the union.
RealTime24 gathered that the NUJ national executive led by Comrade Chris Isiguzo will in the next few days ratify the report of the State Credentials Committee headed by Comrade Godwin Okoh, which was set up by the state congress to conduct the election.
