Professor Obiora Okonkwo, the governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in 2021 but now a member of the PDP, has spoken on why he left the PDP after his loss in the primary but is now a member of the party.
He referred to Peter Obi as a good friend of his till date but explained how the primary election was rigged against him by Peter Obi and PDP in Anambra State then, which led to him leaving the party.
According to him, “Before the election, the party chairman did his accreditation and accredited 216 delegates. 200 people voted and there was no invalid vote but 170 people were seated in the hall. No one came in or went out yet 200 votes were counted which means 30 people were smuggled in who were not party members. They were sharing extra ballot papers in which Peter Obi was the chairman who was given out the ballot paper and he voted himself with 3 extra ballot”
