
Incumbent governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has been re-elected to continue as governor for another four years.
Soludo who contested the governorship election in the state under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) recorded a landslide victory in the election, which took place across the state on Saturday.
He defeated the other challengers in the race in all 21 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.
State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, while announcing the final result at the collation centre in Awka, the state capital, on Sunday, said the governor polled 422,664 votes while Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed him in second place, earning 99,445 votes.
Candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) got 8,208 votes while the PDP received 1,401 votes.
