The Presidency has denied reports that President Bola Tinubu has sacked or directed the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr. Bayo Ojulari to resign.
Reports by online news outlets on Saturday (today) alleged that Ojulari was detained on Friday and coerced into signing a resignation letter by the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Adeola Ajayi.
In a cryptic message by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, dismissed the report as false and unfounded.
You may recall that Ojulari was appointed by President Tinubu as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC Limited in April 2025.
