Ebonyi State House of Assembly has created a stool for the father of the state’s Governor, Francis Nwifuru. The monarch married 30 wives and has 108 children.
His son, Governor Nwifuru handed him staff of office as a government recognised traditional ruler. The presentation of the staff of office took place in the presence of Mike Elechi, David Umahi and other notable personalities in the state.
Speaking during the affirmation of his father as the traditional ruler of the newly created Oferekpe Agbaja Autonomous Community, the governor revealed that his father initially married over 30 wives.
He also said that some of his father’s wives left the family due to inability to bear children – leaving the king with 19 wives.
Now, he has 17 wives and 108 children, among which are 21 university graduates, including the governor.
