The National Counter Terrorism Center has handed over the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Maharazu Tsiga — who spent twenty-two days in captivity — along with 18 other rescued kidnap victims to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The handover took place in Abuja on Thursday.

At the event, Ribadu commended the efforts of the security forces and intelligence agencies involved in the rescue operation.

He emphasised the Nigerian government’s commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring the safety of all citizens.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters had previously reported that the kidnappers of the former NYSC Director-General demanded a ransom of N250million for his release.

General Tsiga was abducted when scores of armed men stormed his residence in Katsina State.

The assailants reportedly surrounded the house and began breaking doors, prompting the retired general to step outside and confront them.

A federal lawmaker representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, had confirmed the abduction, stating that the attackers took control of the premises before taking General Tsiga away.
