Delta State Police have arrested a father and a stepmother after three siblings died during a visit to their father in his house, it was learnt.
The couple lives at the Delta Steel Housing Complex, Township 1, Orhuwhorun in Udu Local Government Area.
It was learnt that the sisters who live apart from their father occasionally visited and that the father remarried after their mother died.
The incident shocked the community, especially as it comes less than a year after the death of their sisters’ mother.
A source said: “Their father remarried shortly after their mother’s passing, with the stepmother reportedly being a close friend of the deceased.”
The sisters allegedly returned from a birthday party the previous day to their father’s residence only to be found dead the following day.
Delta State Police Command image maker, Edafe Bright, a Superintendent, who confirmed the incident said: “We are treating this as a suspicious death and are exploring all angles. The public will be updated as we make progress.”
