A man had a small dog whom he constantly neglected. He left him alone and without food while he went to work, until one day he decided to abandon him in a garbage can on the street. The little dog stayed there, looking at his owner with sad eyes, until he turned the corner and disappeared. However, at that very moment a beggar happened to be passing by and saw him lying next to the garbage. Without hesitation, he picked him up in his arms and gave him lots of caresses. The little dog wagged his tail excitedly and the beggar was delighted with him.
They walked the streets looking for food discarded in the trash, it was already part of their daily routine, always accompanied by their faithful dog. One day, unfortunately, the beggar began to suffer from a strange illness that caused him dizziness. People passed by him ignoring him, however, his dog did not stop barking until the dizziness disappeared. In his eyes, the dog reflected a deep sadness.
One sunny afternoon he was standing in the middle of the street and the sun’s rays were burning brightly, the beggar could not stand it any longer and fell to the ground, at that moment the dog began to bark and bark as people passed by and continued on their way, after a while of barking he noticed that his master did not wake up. At that moment he ran out and headed to the central part of the town where there was a police station, the dog barked and barked and the police did not understand anything, but after his repetitive barking they got curious and decided to follow the dog.
Upon arrival, they discovered that the dog had led them to the beggar. They immediately contacted a nearby hospital and requested an ambulance to transport him.
The beggar, almost out of breath, was able to say to them: “Take care of my dog and give him the best love in the world, those little four-legged ones are certainly better than many people.” With these words, the beggar breathed his last and passed away.
One of the nurses who was with him during his last breath promised him that he would take care of the dog and so he did. He took him home where the little dog had a home, safe food and best of all: lots of love!
