In a show of love for humanity and education, Chief Frank Egwu, the Ebubedike 1 of Ejeme Kingdom has put smiles on faces of pupils of Ejeme Primary School, Ejeme Aniogor, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State as he resuscitates the potable water system with solar power facility that will serve not just the pupils of Aniogor Primary School, but the entire Ejeme-Aniogor community.
The notable philanthropist also revived state-of-the-art washrooms (toilet) facility for the pupils of the school.
Commissioning the projects, the Monarch of Ejeme-Aniogor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Obi Anthony Onwelikwu Ogboli noted the persistent philanthropy, charity works and various level of supports that Chief Egwu has been extending to his Kingdom. Obi Anthony Ogboli while speaking with Realtime.ng said, “We are very happy with the projects. What we saw today has not been seen before in Ejeme Aniogor. We all schooled in this primary school, but something of this nature has not happened”.
HRM Obi Ogboli also expressed joy that the potable water system was not just secluded to pupils of the school, but also for the benefits of the contiguous residents. He said; “The other day, as I was passing, I saw our people fetching water from the system. It is a thing of joy and we are very happy” with the kind gesture. “I thank that young man for what he has done. He is my Chief, The Ebubedike 1 of Ejeme Anigor Kingdom”.
Speaking on Chief Frank’s work of charity, support for education – provision of amenities and award of scholarship to pupils at the primary, secondary and tertiary schools level, the Monarch said; “We have been praying for him, even the children, the less privileged he is helping are also praying for him. I, the King of the Kingdom is also praying for him. Let God empower him and others so that they will have to give to the less privileged ones”.
On the Commissioner of Primary Education, Hon (Dr.) Kingsley Ashibogwu, His Royal Majesty said the commissioner’s speech at the ceremony shows that he is ready to improve learning in schools in Delta State. He stated; “even though he just assumed office, I believe that he will bring more projects to the kingdom”.
The Obi assured security and good usage of the facilities to serve maximum benefits to the pupils and the community.
He prayed for progress of the projects’ sponsor, Chief Frank Egwu and for all Ejeme sons and daughters. He urged them to emulate the projects’ sponsor by giving back to their community.
In his remark, the Commissioner, Primary Education, Hon (Dr.) Kingsley Ahibuogwu, commended Chief Frank Egwu for his noble contribution and prayed for God’s blessings on him. He expressed confidence in the administration’s dedication to delivering impactful governance and sustainable initiatives.
Hon. Ashibogwu charged the staff and pupils to cultivate maintenance culture to ensure sustainability of the projects to foster congenial learning environment. He expressed satisfaction with the warm reception by HRM Obi Anthony Ogboli, His Council of Chiefs and the entire Ejeme Aniogor Kingdom, including the, staff and pupils – especially their wonderful cultural presentations.
The Commissioner, Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, who also attended the ceremony, lauded the project sponsor for his indefatigability in giving back to his community.
He assured the people of more developmental projects and emphasized support for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration and the M.O.R.E. Agenda. He reiterated the government’s commitment to rolling out more projects in 2025.
Earlier, the projects’ sponsor, Chief Egwu, in his welcome address, presented by the projects’ coordinator, Mr. Innocent Isieh, expressed delight that the “potable water system will serve both the school and its environs”. He stated that the event “feels like coming full circle” as he started his education at Aniogor Primary School, where he “learnt how to live and succeed”. Continuing, he said; “Even in these classrooms, I still have fond memories of my days as a young boy, hope and ambition. Now, it makes me happy to give back to the school and the community that helped me get as far as I have done”.
He noted that potable water is a basic need of life which augments better health, and that the facilities provided will create a better environment for the pupils to focus on their studies. Chief Frank also said that the contiguous residents will benefit from the clean water which the projects provide.
He further said, “This is not just an infrastructure project; it is a project of opportunity. It is about giving each child the tools they need to be able to succeed. In October, 2024, apart from giving cash awards to three best students, I also donated textbooks to our pupils to enrich their learning experiences. I have also awarded scholarships to students – two of which started their education right here in Aniogor Primary School … These efforts reflect my unwavering belief in the transformative power of education and my desire to see each child here realize his or her full potentials”.
While paying gratitude to the Obi, His Council of Chiefs, the Hon Commissioners for their support and for gracing the occasion, he urged for posting more teachers to augment the low staff strength in the school.
The Headmaster of Anigor Primary School, Mr. Raymond Onyekpe expressed appreciation to the Obi, His Council of Chiefs, the project sponsor and the government officials for attending the ceremony and called for more teachers and rehabilitation of the classroom blocks. He thanked Chief Egwu for his various support to the school.
Among dignitaries that attended the ceremony were, the Secretary of Education, Delta State, other top government officials, the Publisher, Realtime.ng, Austin Chukwudi and his press crew – Kenneth Ikenegbe and Oge Amudo. Others were, Hon. Felicia Chukwumah and Mr. Isaac Ikwuni.
