A former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan and popular media influencer, Reno Omokri, has offered for musing, the notion that Nigeria is a bad country.
He wrote via X:

“If Nigeria is that bad, why do you think we routinely do better than those countries you want to japa to in the Mental Health Quotient?

“This year, we ranked in the top ten happiest nations on Earth, while the UK and other European nations ranked in the bottom ten.

“Let me ask you, when was the last time you experienced loneliness in Nigeria? When was the last time you did not experience a party in your street in Naija?

“You visit your neighbour when he eats, and he invites you to join him. If you have the mind to try that abroad, your neighbour can involve the police, who may caution you for trespass.

“Communal life in Nigeria is so highly underrated. It does not exist abroad except in a few communities, like the Yoruba diaspora in London.

“We do have our challenges as a nation. However, things are not as bad as you think they are in Nigeria or as good as you assume they are in Europe.

“May God bless Nigeria.”
