
The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta Council has congratulated Comrade Nkem Nwaeke on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.
A press release by the NUJ Delta Council signed by its Chairman, Churchill Oyowe, and General Secretary Comrade Victor Sorokwu; made available to Realtime.ng, stated: “The council is particularly elated that the speaker picked one of its respected members, a very experienced and seasoned journalist, as his principal media aide.
“The union is very confident Comrade Nkem Nwaeke would spare nothing, as he brings his wealth of experience as a versatile journalist and consummate media influencer to bear on his new assignment; believing he will positively transform the state legislature beat”, the release added.
“The leadership of the NUJ, Delta Council also seizes this opportunity to thank the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor for the appointment; who tends to take after the enviable steps of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, in deploying local content principle in engaging media personnel”.
Comrade Nkem Nwaeke, currently an Assistant General Manager in Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri, has been covering the state legislature for over 15 years and has become a repository of information on the affairs and operations of the House of Assembly.
A former Secretary, NUJ, DBS, Warri Chapel, Comrade Nwaeke holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Mass Communication from the Delta State University, Abraka
He is married and has children.
