Most agree that instant noodles aren’t the healthiest choice. They are full of empty calories and provide little nutritional benefits. Although they may lack the good stuff, they might also be filled with more than you want to consume.
You might think twice about eating them after watching this. See what’s inside in a video shared on November 14:
This doesn’t look ideal. TikTok user @emma21782 is showing us what an instant noodle looks like under a microscope with 400 times the magnification. There are several black fibers along the noodles, as well as spots of discoloration. What are those? It sure doesn’t look like a high-quality product.
While it could be argued that any food put under a microscope might look this way, that doesn’t appear to be the case. For example, this video from Adam Ragusea shows us what many processed foods look like under magnification, and most don’t have these foreign particles inside. It makes you wonder what exactly is in those cheap noodles.
Not only does this popular pasta have foreign substances, but it also doesn’t provide any notable nutritional benefits. They are low in protein and fiber, and the seasoning packet contains high amounts of sodium. Many also contain loads of artificial ingredients and saturated fats. These fats can go rancid, potentially causing the spots seen on the pasta.
These noodles were our go-to when we were young because they were cheap and easy to make. However, much like many other decisions of our youth, it’s probably best to leave them in the past.
