A frontline association, Ejeme Concerned Professionals, has committed to supporting the people of Ejeme community, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, with developmental projects that would impact on the lives of the people.

The commitment was made when the group of professionals held their inaugural meeting at Ejeme Aniogor.

Speaking at the maiden meeting, the Chairman, Ejeme Concerned Professionals, Frank Egwu, stated that the initiative to come together as a group has provided a platform for motivation and collaboration towards surmounting challenges inhibiting progress in the community.

He said; “The need for our community to grow is urgent and compelling; it is not merely a goal. It is evidence of the effectiveness of teamwork, the synergy of ideas, and the transformational potential of action motivated by integrity.

“Our sole aim is to mobilize our expertise, skills, and resources to bring about sustainable and impactful developmental projects that uplift the lives of every member of our community”.

The chairman highlighted points that will drive the progress of the group to include: identifying the community needs, transparency and accountability, collaborative partnership and sustainability. Others are; empowerment of the marginalized as well as harnessing technology for change.

He emphasized that the professionals are primed to walk the talk in order to bring about visible developments in order to emplace Ejeme community in its pride of place, not only in the local government area, but in the state as well. 

The Chairman, Frank Egwu further stated: “As we embark on this historic journey, let us be inspired by the shared vision of a community that thrives on integrity and sustainable progress. The Association of Concerned Professionals is more than just a collection of individuals; it is a symbol of resolve and hope. We are well aware that the road ahead will be challenging, but we are unwaveringly committed to attaining the objectives of our community.

“But when we work together towards a shared objective and uphold high moral standards, we are a force that can triumph over any obstacle. As we go ahead, let’s keep the critical needs of our neighborhood in mind and carry the change torch. If we conduct our actions with transparency, accountability, and a collaborative approach, we can achieve the advancement that our community deserves. Please bear in mind that as we embark on our journey, our organization’s success relies on every member and the backing of the whole community. We can transform the world one project at a time by cooperating”.

A paper presented by one of the professionals, Professor Nkem Onyekpe; titled, “Between the Ejeme Intelligentsia and Ejeme Development”, dwelt on landmark issues – which include administrative stability, defence, agriculture, education and self-help projects; current challenges – poor road network, insecurity, cultism and violence and poor road network.

Professor Onyekpe noted that, “had there been an organised body of Ejeme intelligentsia, the community would have made more progress. Besides, most of the current development challenges would have been top priorities of attention”.

During the meeting, officers were elected to pilot the affairs of the body, with Frank Egwu, emerging as the President, Ejeme Concerned Professionals.

Other officers elected into the executive committee are: Chief Onyeka Okoh, Vice President; Henry Chidi, Secretary; Mrs Asuzu Ifeyinwa Success, Assistant Secretary and Major Dickson Okpor (Rtd), Treasurer.

Dr Chika Ogonwa was elected, Public Relations Officer; Innocent Isieh, Financial Secretary and Prof. Nkem Onyekpe, Adviser.

Concerned Ejeme Professionals is an association of selected 20 Ejeme Professionals across the globe formed for the development of the community.
