The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has called for suspension of key PDP members following the failure of the party to win the presidential poll and dismal performance at other federal and state elections.
Wike stated this during an interview with Channels Television.
Excerpt of the interview.
“And that’s why I’m calling the National Welfare Committee. They should call the National Welfare Agency, suspend the presidential candidate, suspend people like Aminu Tambuwal, Sule Lamido from the party so they can rebuild the party”.
When asked asked; “What about you? People are calling for your own suspension, even expulsion!”.
He said “No, no, they know that I didn’t do anything wrong. They should even congratulate us for fighting for equity, justice and fairness in this country.
If his action wasn’t against the will of the party, he said, “Against the will of Nigerians? The party against Nigerians? Who is superior? Is it the party that is superior to Nigerians? Or Nigerians are superior to the party?
“We had a concession. Because you think you have the power. You say no, we’re not fighting concession. You can do anything without anybody. And we say no, it’s not possible. You can’t succeed.
“You require everybody to work together, for you to emerge as a legitimate party candidate”.
