The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has restated its readiness for protest over the subsidy removal which has brought untold hardship on Nigerians.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the premier labour union said, it has adopted the resolution of the Central Working Committee (CWC) on the nationwide protest which is billed to hold on Tuesday, August 2.

The protest is aimed at “pressurizing the Federal Government to do the needful about the fuel subsidy removal, palliatives and the fuel price hike, because they are not negotiating in good faith”, the union said in a press release.

We bring this protest action from the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress Delta State Council.
The National Executive Council (NEC)of NLC met yesterday and adopted the resolution of the Central Working Committee (CWC)on the Nationwide protest.
In addiction, the national leadership of NLC has slated Wednesday 2 of August 2023 for a nationwide protest, to put pressure on the Federal government to do the needful about the Fuel Subsidy removal, palliatives and the fuel price hike, because they are not negotiating in good faith.
The headship of every affiliate Union is to ensure effective mobilization for the plan protest which shall commence around 9am on Wednesday at Labour House. The big Unions are enjoined to come with at least 100 protestants each while the small unions should endeavour to come with least 80 protestants each to meet up with the expected 2000 protestants in Delta State.
We trust your mobilization will make this show of force a huge success”.
