A Russian woman is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her daughter so she can take over her apartment.

The suspect, identified as a 67-year-old woman from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, is accused of ordering the murder of her 48-year-old daughter so she can acquire her apartment. According to Oddity Central, investigators said the woman shared her heinous plans with a close acquaintance who explained that they knew someone who could pull off a hit.

The acquaintance set up a meeting with the woman and apparent hit man in a park where they discussed details of the crime and it would planned out. She reportedly promised to pay the alleged hit man 80,000 rubles ($1,040) if he provided evidence of her daughter’s murder.

The would-be hit man went straight to police to tell them about the 67-year-old woman’s intentions to kill her daughter. Investigators asked him to cooperate and continue playing his role as the hitman. Additionally, they helped staged the woman’s murder after notifying her about her mother’s plans and asked for a personal item as “proof” of the murder. On May 3, he told the woman that he fatally stabbed her daughter and provided evidence by showing the woman’s bag.

“The investigation has data on the woman’s intention to kill her son, the version is being checked. The woman has been detained and will soon be questioned about the circumstances of the crime. Investigators intend to apply to the court with a motion to select a suspected measure of restraint in the form of detention. The criminal investigation is ongoing,” investigators said.

Hiring hitmen is illegal in Russia and is punishable under criminal law. According to Article 33 of the Russian Criminal Code, individuals who order or commission a murder or attempted murder can be charged with criminal liability. The penalties for such offenses can include imprisonment for a term of up to 20 years or life imprisonment in particularly serious cases.

Furthermore, under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code, murder or attempted murder is classified as a particularly serious crime, which carries severe punishment. The Russian authorities take a strong stance against such crimes and have implemented strict measures to investigate and prosecute individuals involved in them.

Therefore, it is not only illegal but also highly dangerous and unethical to hire hitmen or engage in any criminal activity related to murder in Russia. It is always better to report any potential threats or criminal activities to the authorities instead of taking the law into one’s own hands.
