The State Executive Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council has passed a vote of confidence on the Comrade Michael Ikeogwu-led State Working Committee, describing their actions in recent times as wonderful.

The SEC meeting which held Wednesday 29th March, 2023, deliberated on various issues affecting the Union and affirmed that Ikeogwu and his Exco had done well, especially with transparency in handling the members’ welfare and promoting professional ethics of the union.

While airing their views during the meeting, the members said the indicators of the SEC performance over the period are very positive and therefore passed a vote of implicit confidence on the State Working Committee, as an affirmation of the EXCO walking the talk.

In solidarity with the leadership of NUJ, the journalist turned Monarch and renowned member of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, Udurhie 1, Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom graced the SEC meeting where he enjoined the members to continue working as a team for continuance upholding of harmony and professionalism.

He said the union had done well under the leadership of Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, maintaining that he was always pleased with the spirit of camaraderie exhibited by members in the interest of peace and unity.

He admonished the journalists to work in synergy with the Exco to achieve needed milestone for the union, adding that NUJ as the fourth estate of the realm, deserves better positioning to continue with its indispensable roles in society.
