Six days to the March 11 gubernatorial elections in Delta State, the gale of defections that led to PDP’s woeful performance in the last presidential and National Assembly elections has continued unabated with the Isawanda community of Udu Local Government Area and Ekrejegbe Community of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State taking steps to totally surrender all votes in the communities to the All Progressives Congress during the coming gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

The defection of the leadership and people of Isawanda Community of Egini town was led by Chief Gowon Iyasere, the ‘Governor’ of Isawanda, while the Ekrejegbe onslaught against the PDP was triggered by the formal defection of the immediate past Vice Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Olorogun Matthew Ofioguma with hundreds of the community people signing up for the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking at the APC campaign rally which took place at the Egini Town Hall, Chief Gowon Iyasere disclosed that the PDP was being run by a cabal who are so selfish and myopic in their cult-like attitude to leadership that he and his team has no option but to join hands with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to rescue the state from the gang of irresponsible feather-weight masquerading as party leaders in the area.

Chief Gowon, who decorated a coffin with the PDP membership cards of his team numbering over 500 eligible voters, announced that PDP was buried in Egini Town and that those parading themselves as leaders of the party in the town were only after the money the party may send to the town and not any form of electoral victory.

‘’This is the end of the road for PDP in this town. The election is already won and lost in Egini. PDP has outlived her usefulness and we are here to bury the tattered, evil and dubious umbrella that has brought only pains and sorrow to our people over the years. PDP has no good plans for our people. APC has brought light and roads to our people and anybody still deceiving PDP that they will get votes in Egini is only after the money the party can offer. It is over. PDP is dead and buried today’’, he added.

He commended the people who trooped out from all over the Isawanda community of Egini to ‘’identify with the APC so as to completely rid Udu of PDP after 24 years of irresponsible leadership of the state. We are done with the umbrella. It is time to sweep the pieces of umbrella from Udu and Delta State on March 11’’, he declared.

Others who defected during the rally at Egini include Hon Ochuko Brotoboh, Comrade Shedrack Ejotubu, Mr Lucky Iyasere and many others.

At the rally which was held at Ujevwu, the railway town, Vice Chairman of the PDP in Udu Ward 8, Mr John Kurame also announced his defection to the APC describing the APC as the new bride in town.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Vice Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, Olorogun Matthew Ofioguma has led hundreds of his supporters from the PDP into the open embrace of the APC ahead of Saturday gubernatorial election.

Speaking at the formal declaration to dump the PDP after leading the onslaught against the party on Saturday February 25th which saw the APC winning all elections in the community, Olorogun Mathew Ofioguma declared that he has formally resigned his membership of the ‘’sinking PDP to join the APC.

As you all know, PDP went to court to argue for more pains on the masses over the naira redesign imbroglio yet, APC governors were fighting Mr President, who is leader of their own party over the matter to literarily position the PDP as an enemy of the people. The people saw the wickedness of the PDP and disown the party on February 25th.

‘’PDP has no good agenda for the masses. Only a clique bound together by selfish interests having the running the party over the years and once you decide not to belong, you cannot grow in the party. PDP has a very terrible reward system and today, they are paying dearly for it. Saturday March 11 will be the final onslaught and APC will win the state for the first time to teach the mindless, wicked, iniquitous and dubious gang led by Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa a lesson they will never forget.

‘’I can assure you that before Saturday, big names across the state will dump the umbrella for the broom revolution. I am glad to be part of the revolution that is set to sweep PDP from Delta State’’, he said.
