Mixed reactions have trailed the sad tribute by the children of a Nigerian man who passed away at the age of 66. Samuel Strong shared the page of the late man’s biography on the Facebook group ‘Rant HQ Extension’.
The children of late Chief Gabriel Osonwa Kalu had nothing of fatherly love to say about him, but that of disdain in their tribute.
The man’s children said that although no one is perfect, he left them no legacy to be proud of. They expressed sadness on having him as a father and slammed him for being good to outsiders, while neglecting his home.
“…Indeed you were so good to outsiders but your own home was a total shamble. As a growing child, I regretted having you as a father, but today, look at me, standing to lay you down to rest”, part of the tribute reads.
This has generated comments from social media users with some siding with the children, while others rebuked them for writing unkind and critical words about their father who would not be able to defend his actions toward them.
