Teachers and students of Ebrumede Secondary Schools, Ebrumede in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have deserted the school following a suspected gas pipeline leakage close to the school.
According to report by NewsNet Nigeria, the teachers and students of the public secondary school had barely settled down for the day’s academic activities, Thursday morning (today) when the odour of gas filled the school premises.
A source who craved anonymity said that to avert the danger of a fire outbreak or explosion, the teachers and students had to vacate the school premises.
It was gathered that the chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon Ramson Onoyake has dispatched officials of the council to ascertain the true situation.
