A middle-aged man identified simply as ‘Agent Dan’ has reportedly died by suicide in Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that ‘Agent Dan’ died inside his room at 42, Obahor Street, Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area of the state.
Although no suicide note was discovered, witnesses said that his action might not be unconnected with him losing a girlfriend known as Ejiro, who reportedly dumped him for another man recently.
It was gathered that the gory incident has since thrown the entire neighbourhood into shocking mourning.
According to sources, Agent Dan’s co-tenant alerted neighbours when she noticed that his door was still closed as at 8:30 a.m,”which was quite unusual of him”.
The co-tenant reportedly knocked several times without response. He also perceived a strange odour suspected to be chemical oozing out from within, which made the neighbours to force the door open and found him dead, with foam and blood in his mouth and nostrils.
An empty bottle of ‘sniper’ was discovered beside his lifeless body.
It was however gathered that ‘Agent Dan’ who was trading on second-hand clothes at Mciver had been cohabiting with his estranged lover, Ejiro for fourteen years without move to formalize the relationship.
According to a source, Ejiro had rebuffed many suitors, even from outside the country -waiting for Agent Dan. The source added that having waited for too long without concrete step to legalise the relationship, “Ejiro took her destiny in her hands and started dating another man”, which led to the tragedy with her ex-lover.
It was also gathered that when the lady heard about the death of Agent Dan, she attempted to take her life, but was restrained by her relatives.
