
There was an outrage over the killing of a 39-year-old Nigerian man on Friday at the Civitanova Marche city in Italy. According to Aljazeera News, the victim who goes by the name Alika Ogorchukwu was a physically challenged man who sells goods on the streets. In a disturbing video shared by Aljazeera News, an Italian man was seen beating and strangling the victim till he lost his life. It was gathered that the incident occurred on a busy street as onlookers make videos of the attack with little or no attempt to save the victim.
Aljazeera News has reported that a wide protest has hit the streets of Italy with many people calling for justice to be served for the deceased. In an interview posted by the news platform on Sunday, the wife of the victim stated that all she wants is justice. The devastated woman told journalists that she is pained that despite the condition of her husband, someone will just murder him in cold blood. She said: ” All I want is justice. I don’t want anything else except justice for my husband who was murdered in cold blood “.
The Nigeria Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Abam urged Nigerians to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their hands. In the video posted by Aljazeera on Sunday, many people of different colors including Italians have taken to the streets, calling for justice to be served.
