An aide to the Deputy Senate President, and APC governorship flagbearer in the 2023 election, Ovie Omo-Agege, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

The aide was identified as Cyril Mudiagbe, popularly called Cyril Makanaki.
