  • We need a generous man as president because Nigerians are hungry
  • Those supporting him are wasting their money
  • Twitter user says Labour Party has no national spread to win Nigeria presidency in the 2023 polls

Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has kicked against the presidential aspiration of the Labour Party presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi.

While speaking to members of his church on Wednesday, June 15, Fr. Mbaka said a stingy man cannot be Nigeria’s president. According to him, Nigerians are hungry and they need a generous man.

”A stingy man cannot be our President. We are very hungry. We need a generous person. Nigerians are hungry. Are we not hungry?”, he asked.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user, Bashir Ahmad has said that Labour Party (LP), which is coming to prominence, especially in the social media after adopting Dr. Peter Obi as its  presidential flagbearer; has no offices, candidates or any form of infrastructure in 25 local government areas of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory.

Bashir apparently wondered how the party could make meaningful impact in the 2023 general elections, let alone winning the presidency.

His tweet:

“Did you know that Labour Party doesn’t have an office in Kano, a state with over 5,000,000 registered voters, not only that the party doesn’t have a single candidate in the whole 44 local governments in the state, and the story is so very similar in at least 25/36 states and FCT”.
