The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Sunday, led the other twenty eight members of the state legislature in a thanksgiving service to mark the 3rd anniversary of the 7th Assembly.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, his deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, traditional rulers, captains of industry, as well as other top government functionaries also attended the thanksgiving service.

Governor Okowa in his remarks at the service held at Living Faith Church, Asaba, called on those in authority to use their positions to enhance the lives of the people.

While congratulating members of the 7th Assembly on their third anniversary, Okowa lauded the legislature for the good working relations between the executive and the legislative arms of the state government.

He stressed the need for sustained peace and development in the state, noting that his administration will continue to collaborate with the House in building a stronger economy in Delta State.

The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who took The Bible reading at the service, expressed gratitude to God for His grace upon the House, noting that members have every reason to celebrate.

Oborevwori assured more impactful bills that would further promote peace and development in the state, and added that the electoral process for 2023 elections would not disrupt the sitting of the House.

Earlier, Resident Pastor of the church, Pastor Chris Nwaka in a sermon titled “Accessing Our Breakthrough Heritage In The Word” said Christians are redeemed as Ambassadors of Christ to enjoy dignity and for generational impact.

He said only God can guide and direct the affairs of men and urged leaders to always put their trust in God.

Some members of the House including the Deputy Speaker, Ochor Ochor, Majority Leader, Ferguson Onwo, Deputy Chief Whip, Solomon Ighrakpata, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, Aniocha North, Anthony Elekeokwuri, Ika North East, said the state Assembly was poised to making more progress and called for sustained support.
