
It was a celebration of life and gathering of notable personalities, associations, family members, friends and well-wishers, when Pa Philip Uzuakpunwa Egwu (Edukeujem) was laid to rest in his family compound at Ejeme-Aniogor, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State on 2nd April, 2022.
Pa Egwu transited to Eternal Glory on 18th October, 2021 at the age of 105 years. He was a confidant of Obi Odigadawu of Ejeme, who bestowed him, the high title of “Anawo Obi”.

During his younger days, he was an acclaimed farmer who also ventured into commerce – forestry and timber.

The quintessential, ebullient Centenarian was blessed with many children, among who are Frank Onwuka Egwu and Paul Egwu – both leaders in NGS Class of ’81 and NGS Alumni respectively.
Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were; Hon Austin Chikezie, member representing Aniocha South LGA in Delta House of Assembly, Nsukwa Grammar School Class of ’81, Nsukwa Grammar School Alumni, High Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, In-laws of Frank Egwu who travelled all the way from Anambra State with a very entertaining dance troupe, as well as other eminent personalities.
