Five persons have been confirmed dead in an auto crash along Eku-Abraka road, by Oha Secondary School in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The accident involved an ash-colour Lexus 330, registration number: Lagos TJK-203HG and a dark-green commercial Toyota Picnic mini bus with registration number: Delta KPE-778AA.
It was gathered that the Lexus was on top speed enroute to Warri axis when it experienced brake failure and the driver lost control of the vehicle – ramming into the Toyota Picnic bus traveling towards Orerokpe. The two vehicles reportedly plunged into a ditch.
The driver of the Toyota Picnic vehicle and four of the passengers on board died on the spot, according to information from eyewitnesses.
At the time of filing this report, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were on the scene evacuating the remains of the deceased, just as policemen were controlling traffic and a crowd of sympathizers surging to get full glimpse of the gory incident.
