The management of Air Peace has denied reports claiming it disrespected the Emir of Kano over the airline refusal to delay its to Kano to enable the Emir and entourage to connect to the city.
The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero was returning from a trip via Banjul, The Gambia.

The chief protocol officer of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, had written a petition to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, asking for punitive measures to be taken against Air Peace over its refusal to delay its scheduled Lagos-Kano flight to accomodate the monarch.

In a statement, Air Peace authorities say rather than disrespect the Emir, they acted in a manner to protect the him from embarrassment. According to the statement, there would have been an uproar if the aircraft which was about to take off was delayed for an hour for the monarch and his entourage to board the plane.
