The Delta State Police command have confirmed the death of five youths in a cult war on Saturday night at Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Spokesman of Delta State Police command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.

It was gathered that the clash broke out between two rival cult groups in the town on Friday night, which degenerated to killings in the early hours of Saturday.

Several vehicles with heavily armed security men were seen patrolling the town; apparently to restore law and order and to reassure the residents.

Some youths who spoke to newsmen said they were not sure of what caused the killings, but expressed fear that it might continue if steps were not taken to checkmate cult activities in the community.

“Security men moving in the day time is not a solution. The killings were done at night. So the patrol should be at night”, they said.

The development came a few days after hoodlums set parts of the Palace of Ovie of Agbarho on fire.
