Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ukwani Local Government Chapter has rebuffed the claim of zero opposition in the local government area as posited by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the council area.
SDP in a press release issued by chairman of the party, Hon. Anthony Chibueze Emikpe, said that contrary to the claim of PDP that the party owns Ukwuani LGA, SDP is strong in the council area and provides strong opposition to “cage” the PDP.
The SDP called on “security agencies to be on the look out for trouble makers and ensure that Ukwuani LGA is safe at all times”.

THERE CANNOT BE ZERO OPPOSITION IN UKWUANI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
As PDP Ukwuani LGA chapter honours her National Leader today, we appeal for calm and decorum.
We have observed with dismay several verbal utterances in the Social Media and other formal cum informal media geared towards heating up the polity.
Ukwuani LGA is not owned by PDP and we will not allow PDP drag Ukwuani and her esteemed leaders to the muds.
The disparaging words are uncalled for and are inimical to the Ukwuani culture and tradition.
These negative utterances from PDP leaders and followers is not only bringing Ukwuani LGA shame but also demeaning her sons and daughters of repute. And this MUST stop.
Ukwuani LGA has enjoyed relative peace for some time now therefore, PDP and it’s agents should not drag us backward.
We in Opposition in Ukwuani LGA are fully committed to a united and developed Ukwuani and nothing will derail us.
No meaningful community thrives without Opposition unless the PDP is out to take us back to the dark age.
There cannot be ZERO OPPOSITION in Ukwuani LGA! Those conceiving the idea MUST wake up to the reality of life. Ukwuani must move forward.
We want to use this medium to call on our Supporters both home and in diaspora not to be intimidated by the ruling party in trying to cage the opposition.
We also want to call on the Security agencies to be on the look out for trouble makers and ensure that Ukwuani LGA is safe at all times.
We in SDP shall continue to play our part in ensuring that democracy is not truncated in Ukwuani LGA.
We therefore call on “nde” Ukwuani at home and in diaspora to keep supporting SDP in her quest for a better Ukwuani LGA and Delta State in general.
