The North Caucus of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed a former Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu as PDP National Chairman.
The North Caucus comprises of party leaders from the North Central, Northeast and the Northwest geopolitical zones.
The new chairman-in-waiting will be presented for approval at the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in the days ahead.
Recall that PDP had ceded the chairman position of the party to the North, ostensibly opening the door for a Southern candidate in the 2023 presidential election.
