MEPP: Kyari, Zulum perform groundbreaking ceremony (Photos)
The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari and Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum have officially marked the commencement of the construction of a 50-megawatt gas turbine power plant billed to generate electricity for Maiduguri, and its environs.
The Maiduguri and Environs Emergency Power Project (MEPP) is a Federal Government intervention strategy in tackling the perpetual power outage in Maiduguri, caused mainly by incessant acts of vandalism by insurgents on critical power infrastructure in Borno State.
