Dissenting opinions continue to trail APC’s acceptance of Femi Fani Kayode after his defection from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During a live interview on AriseTV on Wednesday, one of the prominent voices expressing worry over APC’s acceptance of Fani-Kayode; Joe Igbokwe, queried the impact of Fani-Kayode to APC.

He stated, “The gale of defections is why there are no consequences in the polity.” In the end, “the worst behaviour becomes the culture and becomes the norm.”

“Why the open celebration of Fani-Kayode? He isn’t a hero by any stretch of the imagination. Members of the APC’s foundation are concerned about the party’s future.

[What of] the statement by Fani-Kayode that he would rather die than go back to the APC? Fani-Kayode has a good education and shouldn’t be underestimated. But he’s a one-dimensional character.

A man’s reputation is built on his values. It’s about your ideas, not about who’s defected.”

On Lagos State Government’s apparent inability to deal with the annual flooding that occurs during the rainy seasons; Igbokwe said that Lagos is a coastal city that is below sea level, and lamented that people’s actions, especially throwing garbage to the drainage system and building on flood channels are aggravating the problem.

He urged the people to be more accountable for their responsibilities.
