A woman in Madhya Pradesh, India allegedly pushed her neighbour and her two kids into a well as she suspected her of having an affair with her husband.
While the woman was rescued, her children drowned in the well.
The incident took place evening of last Monday in the Betul village. The bodies were recovered around several hours after the incident, and the police got information of the incident three hours after they were pushed into the well.
The 25-year-old victim has been identified as Rita. On the day of the incident, Rita was returning home with her children when she met her neighbour, Pinky.
The two women allegedly started arguing and in a fit of rage, Pinky allegedly pushed Rita into a well with her daughter. Scared, Rita’s son tried to escape from the spot but Pinky caught hold of him and threw him into the well too, The Times of India reported.
Rita tried to grab some roots inside the well and made an attempt to hang on to them but Pinky used stones to force the woman into losing her grip. Meanwhile, Rita’s uncle and other relatives heard her cries for help and rushed to her rescue.
While the woman’s uncle and relatives managed to rescue her; the kids drowned.
After her rescue, Rita told the police that Pinky suspected her husband of having an affair with her. She however said, she did not have any relationship with the man. Pinky was arrested and booked for murdering two children and attempted murder of the woman.
