Gunmen, suspected to be cult members have assassinated a middle-aged man, Mr. Belief Gaman, in Iwhrekpokpor community, Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deceased was said to have been shot several times by the gunmen along Ivwrekpokpo-Imoniyame junction in presence of one of his children.
Residents were said to have scampered for safety during the incident.
One of the residents, who pleaded anonymity, said the hoodlums traced the deceased to where he was reversing his car in front of his wife’s shop and fatally shot him.
A source alleged that the deceased may have been killed by suspected cultists in battle for rivalry in Ughelli.
While a security source in Ughelli confirmed the incident; Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said the command has not been briefed on the incident.
