Gunmen on Wednesday morning, stormed the country home of Imo State legislator, Ekene Nnodumele in Ebenato-Awo Idemili, Orsu Local Government Area, beheading a security man on duty and setting the house on fire.

Ekene Nnodumele represents the Orsu Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly.

In the same area, the gunmen also set fire on the ancestral home of Cyprain Charles Akaolisa, the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

Motives for the attacks were yet to be ascertained.

Bala Elkana, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), could not be reached for comments at the time of filing this report; however, Hon. Nnodumele’s aide, A. Nwadikwa confirmed the story and said the hoodlums rained gunfire on the neighbourhood for hours during the attack.
