In response to the apprehension generated by the sit-at-home order issued by pro-Biafra groups for May 31, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, Mohammed Aliyu has met with transport, market, youths and students leaders in the state.

In the meeting held at the command headquarters, the CP said it was to sustain the recently launched Operation Restore Peace (ORP) in the South-East geopolitical zone by the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman.

He spoke to the leaders and other law-abiding citizens of the state, on the need for sustained support to the command, in its efforts to stabilize security and order in the state.

Aliyu urged the citizenry to remain law-abiding, and to go about their lawful businesses without fear of intimidation or harassment. He further urged the people to promptly report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station or by calling the command’s emergency hotlines on: 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671202 or 08098880172.
